Been neglecting my blog. Not much time for myself ever since I came back. Haven't met some of my old friends yet, so if you are reading this, sorry! :(

Cousin Hau and Nat came visiting and it was fun hanging out with them. Shortly after they left I started my internship at Deloitte Touche Tomatsu. First week was orientation/training week. It was alright given that we are able to leave on time at 530pm, even though we had to prepare for a presentation at the end of the week. This week marks the start of real audit at client's office. What can I say. You never know what time you are really gonna knock off when you are an auditor. Working hours for me is pretty long now, given that my internship is currently in the PEAK period. What to do, just trying to stay as positive as possible and learn from this internship. Client's office is pretty solid though. Keppel Energy situated at Keppel Bay Tower viewing Sentosa. At least the view brightens up your day.

Hopefully I will get used to waking up at 7 and returning home past 7 soon, and of cos blog more often.

P.S. (Using firefox now, can get my pics down for some reason)

Time really flies. It's almost the end of November already. Sent Hau off at terminal 3 earlier on. Definitely had fun with him around. Hope to see him again in December, if not the same time next year again.

The date of the commencement of my internship is getting nearer and nearer. In fact it's about one week away. Shall make use of the whole of next week to meet up with as many friends as possible.

Start of story:

Boy: Hey. Can't meet up tmr. Have to accompany aussie cousin.

Gal: Really?

Boy: Yup. Sorry you angry?

Gal: When you free?

Boy: Can't confirm.

Gal: Den it's alright. Let me know when you are free?

Boy: Yup.

30 minutes later...

Boy: Hey Hey I can make it tmr cos one of my cousin has plans for my aussie cousin.

Gal: I just told my mom I will stay home and help with chores.

Boy: Man..Argh...

Gal: Meet another time?

Boy: Alright...

End of story

Can't the gal in the story put aside the chores, and meet up with the boy that she has not met for 9 months? Fact is the boy has been trying hard to find free time amist his hectic schedule. He has exhausted all forms of avenue to try to take this friendship to a further level.

Fucking tired, he is.

I'm officially 23. Damn it feels like another milestone to me. I can officially get into velvet as the age requirement is 23. I think being 23 is the max age one would need to get into any clubs in sg, but I rather I'm still 18. Bursting with energy and trying to club as many times as possible within a week without getting tired.

Birthday was just like a normal day to me. No extravagant party or whatsoever. Cousin Hau, Amer and I went down to sim lim square to meet cousin Joel for lunch. We walked around sls for a while before heading down to Suntec City. Didn't stay there long though, old people get tired easily haha. Had dinner with family at this zhi char place in Simei and then we proceeded to our movie at downtown east - 007 Quantum of Solace. I thought it was a pretty good show. Much more action compared to Casino Royale. Leading actress reminds me of Megan Fox haha!

That's about it for my 23rd. Maybe I will plan something special for my 24th if I graduate next year.

Thanks to those who offered birthday wishes to me, by msn, facebook, sms or phone calls. Really appreciated it. Also, special thanks to brother ivan for coming all the way to pasir ris to pass me my present from taiwan! Thank you all and I hope to meet up with all soon. :) :) :) :)

I wish to dedicate my 23rd birthday to 黎礎寧. I believe most would have heard of what had happened to her. She was my favourite singer in 超级星光大道. I hope that she will find solace in her afterlife. Rest in peace, you will be remembered...

Exams are over. This semester just passed by so quickly. It was tough, given the amount of workload I have to face. Can only hope for the best when the results are out.

Had plenty of fun after my papers. Those few days of relaxation totally rocks. Sushi Tei, fish market, KTV session, Star City and Ivan staying over at our place. Had so much fun that I actually wanted to spend a few more days in Sydney. Insane thought isn't it! LOL.

Photos are all uploaded onto facebook so just pop by there to take a look, I'm too lazy to post them in blogger haha.

Exams is just a week away. It is by far the worse exam I'm gonna face, no doubt about that. 4 killer papers. 4 papers in 4 days - 2 Acct paper on Wed, 1 Fin on Thu and 1 Fin on Sat. I thought my exam timetable the previous semester - 4 papers each on a consecutive day, was the worse I could expect in my university life. How wrong was I to assume that!

Meanwhile, preparation has been rather slow, as I can't seem to absorb as much as I should. Time is running out and I have to really resign to the fate of getting mediocre results this semester. I doubt I can finish studying everything anyway. Hopefully I will pass everything, and push up the grades next year.

I have pictures to upload, but guess I shouldn't waste too much time doing that now. Will prolly post them up after my last paper on the 6th of Nov. Talking about pictures, I have yet to post my euro trip photos. Urgh...-_-

A picture speaks a thousand words...

Beautiful stairs
3 levels high
Genius bar
Happy owner
Nice and classy packaging
IPHONE 3g!!! =)
Clockwise: iphone 3g, adapters and wires, cleaning cloth, manuals, casing and anti-glare film
Final product with casing and screen protector
No idea how to rotate pics in blogger
Tada! One item struck off from my wishlist!

Still learning how to use this wonderful device. Lots of room for creativity, especially the endless applications that can be installed into it. Finally I got myself a phone which can perform as an ipod as well, after pondering for years since sec sch days.

Earlier in the morning, went school to play soccer with the rest. It was a tired but fun work out. I think we played close to 2.5 hrs, and everyone was obviously shagged out. We had sushi tei for dinner, my favourite sushi restaurant. Thumbs up for the sydney branch, although the soft shell crab could have been much better.

Exams are just around the corner, its like so damn near. Again, my exam timetable is screwed up. I thought I had the worst timetable last semester, with 4 papers in 4 consecutive days. Now I have 4 papers in 4 days again, with 2 of them on the same day. WOW...I don't know how am I gonna survive this. Pray for me. I will finish everything on the 1st of Nov. Will be planning to go on a road trip, maybe to hunter valley, port stephens, blue mountains or some far away islands. Definitely looking forward to that, and also my return to home sweet home, which is on the 6th of Nov. Yusheng and I will be taking the 6+pm plane, and should arrive in sg at around 11+pm.

Cheers to returning home soon, and I hope exams gonna be a breeze. ;)

Been a while since I last updated. Really couldn't find any extra time to allocate to blogging. So much work, so many tests and projects. All of them are driving me up the wall. 5 consecutive weeks of mid-semester tests ended last friday. I'm having my mid-sem break now, but it sure doesn't look like a break to me at all. Shall not go into the details of how boring my break is. Pure sadness...

Back to updating what's missing in this blog. Last friday was the last mid-sem paper before the break (I have another paper on week 11 if you are wondering). It was also my room mate, Yusheng's birthday. We had a surprise for him on the midnight of thurs.

On the actual bday, which was friday 26th, Yusheng treated us to Sushi Tei in town. Yes my favourite Sushi Tei. The menu is totally identical to the one in sg, and the prices are almost similar too. Finally there's chawanmushi, cha soba and chuka hotate etc etc etc to savour upon. Had a truly satisfying meal, it was a great start to the mid-semester break.

After dinner, housemates, Ivan and I decided to walk to Lindt cafe to chill and relax. The rest headed to Star City to huat first. The walk to Darling Harbour was much needed to help digest the sumptous meal still in our stomachs.
Even though I am pretty full, I still ordered a few macarons to share. Its simply too irresistable!

Saw the engineering friends at Lindt cafe too. Guess they were having their clique night out. We went to Star City shortly, and I thought it was gonna be my day as my winnings stretched to an amount in excess of $100. It soon become $0 before I even knew it. How depressing. Now the damned place owes me A$200+. Monte Carlo owes me 100 euros. Such gambling luck I have. Urgh! Plenty more photos to post, hopefully I have time.

Meanwhile, still trying to rush and finalise the stupid time consuming Management Accounting 2 project. Exam time-table gonna be out soon, and I hope it's a favourable one. Mid-sems results will be out soon too, and I pray that I can pass my finance. Those who are reading, please pray for me. Many thanks in advance. =)

My guess was right. Wall street is screwed. Who's next after Lehman Brothers?

Friday, September 12, 2008

Argh crap. Just had International Business Finance paper this morning. Went in feeling rather confident, came out feeling crap. Totally screwed up a major portion of the paper. DAMN IT. So much for studying hard and preparing myself for it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Gonna take my mind off this unhappy experience, post some pictures and get on with life. We cooked porridge few days back. This time we added in Pi Dan (Century egg), and it tasted damn good. The pictures doesn't really justify the great taste though.

I think I never had that much Pi Dan at one go before, thus was feeling a little weird from the overdosage. Till now, no banks got back to me regarding my internship this year end. Think it's pretty gone case for me. With no banks to go for now, I turned to auditing firms. Out of the big four, only Ernst & Young bothered to reply to my internship enquiry. =/ Application process was a tedious process, which I only managed to settle in the past hour or so. I had to use my digital camera to take an i/c photo to paste on the application form. Lotsa cam whoring took place. I will just post one picture, in case you guys think I'm a cam whore. Haha!

A temporary sigh of relief...

Today I breathe a sigh of relief...temporary one I guess. The worst feared mid semester test of all, "Corporate Financial Reporting", is finally over. Took the test this afternoon, and surprisingly the paper was fairly easy and straightforward, despite the class being allocated the toughest paper among 6. Never had I study something so intensively and yet not understand most of the essence. Most of my time this semester was spent on finding out why the hell this and that work out in this particular module, selfishly neglecting the other modules I have.

This week was definitely one of the hell week in this semester. Two project deadlines and the feared test. Finally it's over. Felt rather happy, but still, it isn't exactly time to rest as yet. Next week's International Business Finance mid sem, Management Accounting 2 the week after, followed by Portfolio Management with another project submission. Tough times ahead. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. I can't wait for my mid semester break. I really need a break.

Cough is still bad. Don't know what's wrong with my lungs. Think I'm gonna go for an x-ray checkup soon to make sure everything's alright. 阿弥陀佛!

Nothing much to update about life in down under. Everyday it's school, home, tutorials, revision, meals and sleep. Monotonous yes. So far I've only been to town once and I guess the next visit will be during my mid semester break which is at the end of September. Why? Simply coz I have freaking exams every week all the way till the end of September. Not to mention plenty of project work to catch up on. Cheers to that.

I will try to post as often as I can la. Although I doubt I will have anything to update you guys about (unless you want to know what's going on in my revision). Here are some photos I took on the day I came back to syd.

Duty free shopping

Boarding area

I was sitting at the upper deck, with the business class right in front of us. As you can see, they have special coloured lights that change gradually over time when the plane is about to land. Its quite pretty and cool so I thought I should take a photo of it.

Inside a cab, on my way home.

Home not-so-sweet Home. =/

Preparing for school at 10am. -_-
