My guess was right. Wall street is screwed. Who's next after Lehman Brothers?

Argh crap. Just had International Business Finance paper this morning. Went in feeling rather confident, came out feeling crap. Totally screwed up a major portion of the paper. DAMN IT. So much for studying hard and preparing myself for it. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Gonna take my mind off this unhappy experience, post some pictures and get on with life. We cooked porridge few days back. This time we added in Pi Dan (Century egg), and it tasted damn good. The pictures doesn't really justify the great taste though.

I think I never had that much Pi Dan at one go before, thus was feeling a little weird from the overdosage. Till now, no banks got back to me regarding my internship this year end. Think it's pretty gone case for me. With no banks to go for now, I turned to auditing firms. Out of the big four, only Ernst & Young bothered to reply to my internship enquiry. =/ Application process was a tedious process, which I only managed to settle in the past hour or so. I had to use my digital camera to take an i/c photo to paste on the application form. Lotsa cam whoring took place. I will just post one picture, in case you guys think I'm a cam whore. Haha!

A temporary sigh of relief...

Today I breathe a sigh of relief...temporary one I guess. The worst feared mid semester test of all, "Corporate Financial Reporting", is finally over. Took the test this afternoon, and surprisingly the paper was fairly easy and straightforward, despite the class being allocated the toughest paper among 6. Never had I study something so intensively and yet not understand most of the essence. Most of my time this semester was spent on finding out why the hell this and that work out in this particular module, selfishly neglecting the other modules I have.

This week was definitely one of the hell week in this semester. Two project deadlines and the feared test. Finally it's over. Felt rather happy, but still, it isn't exactly time to rest as yet. Next week's International Business Finance mid sem, Management Accounting 2 the week after, followed by Portfolio Management with another project submission. Tough times ahead. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. I can't wait for my mid semester break. I really need a break.

Cough is still bad. Don't know what's wrong with my lungs. Think I'm gonna go for an x-ray checkup soon to make sure everything's alright. 阿弥陀佛!

Nothing much to update about life in down under. Everyday it's school, home, tutorials, revision, meals and sleep. Monotonous yes. So far I've only been to town once and I guess the next visit will be during my mid semester break which is at the end of September. Why? Simply coz I have freaking exams every week all the way till the end of September. Not to mention plenty of project work to catch up on. Cheers to that.

I will try to post as often as I can la. Although I doubt I will have anything to update you guys about (unless you want to know what's going on in my revision). Here are some photos I took on the day I came back to syd.

Duty free shopping

Boarding area

I was sitting at the upper deck, with the business class right in front of us. As you can see, they have special coloured lights that change gradually over time when the plane is about to land. Its quite pretty and cool so I thought I should take a photo of it.

Inside a cab, on my way home.

Home not-so-sweet Home. =/

Preparing for school at 10am. -_-

2nd August 2008

Met up with Daniel, Mark and Shiwei for a game of tennis over at seletar country club. Damn the sun was so hot that I felt so lethargic just after 45 minutes. We had good a exercise and there was a couple of great rallies too. After the session, we adjourned to the usual bistro restaurant to have our delicious food. A pity the camera's in sw's car. We ordered quite a bit of food. Each of us had a main, I think there was beef noodle soup, fried hor fun with beef, carrot cake and penang char kway teow. Besides the mains, we had our usual watermelon juice, fried chicken wings and soft shell crab with floss. Stomach felt like exploding after consuming such a great amount of good food. Damn I like coming to seletar cc.

Soon after, Daniel went home for his family gathering and we left for sw's house to bathe. Later, we picked Zhida up and went to Chomp Chomp @ Serangoon Gardens to tabao Alllllllllllll the local delights to bring to sentosa. We thought Alex should be craving for all the local delights. We bought alot, I mean alot of food. Imagine we spent $101 on hawker food. There were satays, satay bee hoon, char kway teow, stingray, rojak, sugarcane, chicken wings, or lua etc etc.

After dinner, we decided to play some poker. Afterall, all the marists are gamblers by nature. Hohoho! Daniel joined us later in the night after his family gathering. At the end of the day, I won about $30+, woooots. Not alot but still it's money haha.

Leaving Sg...

Just taking some time off my hectic uni work schedule to do a lil updating on my blog. Actually there's quite a bit of pictures and outings to post, but it's a little tedious to put everything up. I guess I will just post those events in a non-chronological order.

4th August 2008, the dreadful day has arrived, yet again. Delayed my flight from the 3rd to 4th, coz on Monday morning there was a praying session for ah gong. Morning went to the temple at around 0530 to prepare the stuffs for prayers, and the whole session lasted till about 0700. Went back home to catch up on my sleep, and in the afternoon went to clementi for lunch with dad, and got my text from the clementi bookstore as well. It was kinda last minute, so a couple of texts were out of stock. Tough luck...

Went to pick up mom from work (and Khloe too), back home to finish up on packing and we were off to terminal 3. Such a sickening feeling to be leaving again. Parents and Khloe couldn't stay long with me at the airport coz mom had night shift (very selfish colleagues who don't lend any helping hand), so they just accompanied me for a while before leaving. Bro and Ade came from work to accompany me for dinner though, and we had it at TCC. Food was pretty good, but my appetite was obviously not that good afterall. Soon it was time to say goodbye, and I actually forgot to wave goodbye while I was at the immigration checkpoint. LOL. Think I was quite stoned already...

Supposed to be...

This blog is supposed to be updated frequently (think eurotrip and outings in sg), with stories and pictures depicting my life. However, lately, I'm just overwhelmed by the enormous amount of workload thrown straight at me from my lovely university. When I thought uni workload couldn't be more than the previous semesters, this semester just got worse. It's only week 3 now, and I cannot fathom how this is gonna last till week 12. I'm not going into the details of how stressful it is, as most of my friends would have known by now.

Now, there is a dilemma that I'm facing. To drop a module from my current four to three, and concentrate on the other 3. Or to simply try to attempt all 4 at one go. Both has its pros and cons of course.

Drop Module:
Pros are less workload, less stress, able to concentrate on just 3 modules and higher chance of scoring better grades.
Cons are I still have to take it next semester, making it a possibly stressful semester like the current one, I will also have 7 modules next year, so it's gonna be 4 in the first sem, and 3 in the second sem.

Holding on:
Pros are if I manage to pass all 4, I will have a relatively relax last year of uni come 2009, as mentioned earlier, I will only be left with 6 modules for the year of 2009.
Cons are workload as bad as now, may increase in the weeks to come, high chance of scoring mediocre results, worst scenario is failing any modules.

Date of decision has to be before the 31st of August. I will get back my money for a module if I choose to drop. 2 more weeks to decide......

Uni life is supposed to be fun and exciting. There is supposed to be a fair balance of work and play. Going overseas to study is supposed to be fun. It's supposed to be less stressful according to 'knowledgable singaporeans'. Everything in life seems "supposed to be", but in reality it seems not to be.

Looking forward to a better tomorrow.

Blog's been neglected I noticed, decided that I should do a little updating at least. The euro kids are coming back on the 1st of Aug, home sweet home finally for them. A pity that I can't stay till the end, sad..

Pretty much played catching up with my friends during the past week or so. Lets start from last Monday. Had dinner with uni friends at far east chicken rice, and we headed to party world at Shaw Center for a ktv session. Damn Ivan's gf Lynn can sing really well. This couple is a erm...singing couple I guess. After ktv we went to newton circus to gorge ourselves for supper. Better to gorge now then regret not having enough before heading back to sydney.

Woke up quite early on Tuesday to accompany ms j and xy for their friends' convo at NTU. Although NTU is FREAKING far, but I don't mind coz they are my GOOD friends. MUAHAHAHA!! Anyway, it was NTU's business convo, so I saw quite a few pretty chicks. Not a wasted trip I guess lol. Afterwhich we headed to paragon's sushi tei (my favourite) and had a fulfilling lunch, when m joined us. Caught The Dark Knight at The Cathay at only 6 bucks, cheap cheap cheap. Terr joined after the movie for dinner at glasshouse's Fish n Co. Portion's smaller, doesn't really seem to justify the price tag, should be avoiding this place in the near future.

We were brainstorming where to go, and ended up in Sentosa's beach. It was fun hanging out there, the tranquility and all, only annoying stuff was my throbbing headache. Thanks for the panadols guys. :)
Wednesday, met up with m10mg for dinner at Hogs Breath cafe at Chjimes. It was a farewell dinner for weiqi who's leaving for korea to kamsahamida and salangheyo. The beef was really quite good at hogs, and definitely extremely filling. Caught dark knight, this time at the grand cinema of cathay. Freaking hilarious malay usher made an announcement prior to the show. "Sorry this show is delayed SIAL". True blue malay. The 'Sial" was slanged to the max. Perfect pronounciation. Why so serious? Haha...

Thursday, met up with jc mates for dinner at Marina Square's Imperial Treasure. Had their la mian and siew lung bao. Not bad la, quite filling. Fun to hang out with them, makes me relive the good old jc days, less the final results haha. After dinner we jalan-ed around, and went to cartel to have the half price cake for desserts muahahah!

Friday, met up with kenneth and sara at Lau Pa Sat for lunch. They were my army buddies back then. Time flies man. Great catching up with them, so much nonsense between us all. Too bad its a rather short lunch appointment, further dampened (literally) by the heavy rain. Went back to White Sands to get my eyes checked, ordered contacts and also made a new pair of specs (old one broke-_-). I decided to get a pair of odd shaped specs, the Rayban Wayfarer black frame. Quite sian of the traditional rectangular shaped specs so I thought I try something new lol.

Had to work on Saturday in the clinic, omg can't believe I'm working -_-'''. It was easy money coz uncle wasn't around and it was a locum doctor, so it was half the usual crowd. At night family went to ah ma's house for steamboat/bbq. Ah ma seems alright, but I'm quite sure deep down she's not. Ah gong's presence was deeply missed, and will always be.

Sunday was tennis with mark, bert and my bro. Rest of the m10mg couldn't make it. Can't recall when's the last time I played, and my hand and arm is still aching as of now. Freaking weak. It was a good workout though, getting all the evil sweat and fats out of the buldging body. Had dinner at the vegetarian zhi char at AMK (best vegetarian stall in sg) with Aunt Michelle, Khloe, Jacob and my parents. Damn nice la, the food there is the best!

Later into the night, m and terr came over to bunk and play wii. They seem fascinated by the wii LOL. We enjoyed playing la, and it was like 3+am before we decided to head to simpang for our supper. TO OUR HORROR IT WAS CLOSING IT WAS LIKE OMFG HOW CAN THEY CLOSE SO EARLY??????????????????????????

-_-''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' My craving for PRATA BOMB literally JIBABOOOOOOOOOOOM! No prata or pattaya for the night. Fucking sad. m suggested we head to geylang for some dim sum. It's the one facing a row of durian stalls, food is not that bad but it's freaking expensive. Hmm may not head there again I think. Played abit of ps2 and wii again before all slept at around 8am. Woke up at 1am and went to E-hub for lunch at Mr chicken rice. Afterwhich I tried setting up the ktv system but gave up due to the confusing wires and connections that were apparently missing. Another day for ktv then!

End of my long post. :)
